A.C.E. is an individualized program allowing each student to work at his/her academic level of achievement. The program is divided into a four-core curriculum subjects (math, English, science, social studies)as mandated by the state of Florida, and required elective subjects that fulfill essential educational needs. High school students are offered four courses of study: Honors, College, General, and Vocational.
Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum has Scripture as its foundation, fully integrating biblical principles, wisdom, and character-building concepts into education. Students move at their own speed through the self-instructional "PACE" workbooks. Following the mastery approach, PACEs are formatted for students to complete the exercises found throughout the workbook, take a practice "self test," and conclude with a "final test" (torn out from the center) to measure understanding.
PACEs are numbered, with each subject generally covering 12 PACEs; the PACE numbers increase numerically as grades progress. Answers are in the sold-separately SCORE Key booklet sets, whose numbers correspond to the student workbook PACEs.
A teacher's role is to supervise and assist any student in mastering a particular skill. Students must test 80% or better before advancing to the next skill.
The IOWA Achievement Test is administered during the school year. This achievement test serves as a pretest before beginning more advanced English, math, social studies, and science levels.
Annual testing results demonstrate that students are achieving an education comparable with, or superior to, education in public and secular private institutions. Completed tests are returned for computer scoring to enhance the credibility of the testing program.
